A young man learns the harsh lessons of life when he is left to fend for himself and his younger sisters after their parents are deported. A compelling story, seasoned with bittersweet laughter, and the kindness of strangers.
Early in March 2017, 20 individuals came together, some meeting each other for the first time. They spent two long days from before sunrise until well after sunset creating the magic you will see below. Watch the making of the trailer in this beautifully shot Behind The Scenes short by filmmaker Bishal Dutra.
After filming, many hours over several months were spent with fine attention to detail led by director Dennis Sandoval. The editing was continually refined until declared perfect by director, producer, and editor Francisco 'Frankie' Jimenez. Once the final edit was declared, the trailer went to music composition.
Barbara Moseley, Music Composer and Supervisor, worked closely with her team and the director. A number of scores were considered before the final selections were made. The trailer introduces original music by both Norm Reed and Barbara Moseley.
The final phase was sound design which roused considerable discussion. Several more weeks passed before the final sound design was completed by Charles G. Rojas.
Film making starts with a script as an outline. The director, producer, department heads, and actors all add their creative vision, each complementing each other.
We hope you enjoy our trailer.
